The Uniques
The Uniques, banda jamaicana, Ska, Reggae e Rocksteady, formado em 1966 e ativos com diferentes line-ups até o final de 1970. The Uniques originalmente formado como um trio vocal de harmonia, por Roy Shirley, Slim Smith e White Franklyn. Depois de gravar alguns singles em 1966. O grupo então se desfez, até o final de 1967, quando Smith formou uma nova versão do grupo com Jimmy Riley e Lloyd Charmers. A nova line-up estreou com uma versão cover de Stephen Stills "For What It's Worth", que foi um sucesso, juntamente com uma série de singles posteriores, muitos produzidos por Bunny Lee, incluindo " My Conversation ", que vendeu a Rupie Lee Edwards, que utilizou o ritmo para criar o primeiro álbum, um ritmo, Yamaha Skank. O lançamento do álbum de estréia do grupo, Absolutely The Uniques foi lançado pela Trojan Records, em 1969, embora eles se separaram no mesmo ano. Bunny Lee lançou um álbum showcase na década de 1970, e o nome do grupo foi brevemente reavivado por Riley e Cornell Campbell em 1977 para o álbum Give Thanks, e novamente em 1997 com Al Campbell juntar Cornell e Riley no álbum The Uniques.
